Shri Ranjit Maharaj gave us His translation and commentary on the four bhajans in 18 sessions, from March 23, 2000 to May 21, 2000. During one of those sessions He instructed me to "Give tapes to all." Another time He said, "Tell everybody what I said." He also said the literal meaning was of no use and that the deeper, inner meaning must be understood. Therefore we have not attempted to make a literal or "poetic" translation although Maharaj's words are poetry of the highest order.
Maharaj was not feeling well during much of this time we spent with Him but He translated everything except the Arati of the night bhajan which was done later by Mr.Bal Naik. Maharaj translated the Kannada language even though He said He didn't know it. He said we would ask somebody when we next went to Bagewadi but we never did. I had Kannada translations when I met with Maharaj initially and He commented on it.
Maharaj showered His blessings on me by giving me this service and I have attempted with all my heart to perform it with clear and thoughtful actions: just one small thing I could do for Him in an attempt to repay Him for something He gave to me which I can never repay.
He also blessed me by providing the right people when I needed them and I sincerely thank them all. In particular I thank Mr. Bal Naik for his understanding and guidance for without his help I could not have completed this translation.

Please note: These bhajans are in Marathi and a few are in the Kannada language,
but the script is written phonetically in English. This is for the benefit of those who cannot read those languages. To sing them correctly the words in some places are separated by this symbol, - , but they are single words. In many cases an "A" has been added at the end of a word which often should be sung with a subtle 'A' sound similar to the sound 'uh' but if that word was spoken there would be no 'a' sound. When there is a double A like this, "AA", sing the sound "AH". This added 'A' was requested by the western disciples to eliminate confusion and help them sing the bhajans correctly.
Whenever the mark (2) appears, it means to chant that line again from the previous comma or fullstop. If the mark is (3) then chant that line thrice and so on.
The word "he", (small h) is used when referring to a normal, ignorant person (and also to us disciples!!). He is used when referring to Maharaj and other Saints and HE when referring to Reality. The same goes for Himself, His, etc.

Shri Ranjit Maharaj
Ranjit Maharaj tells us that his Master Shri Siddharameshwar Maharaj gathered Him and some of His co-disciples together one day and said, "I have never asked anything of you. I have given you the understanding, I have taught you to renounce and then finally to renounce the renouncer. But now I beg of you, sing the bhajans four times a day."
The bhajans tell us how to achieve Reality. Read them daily Maharaj said and you will be an expert in them. "Read again and again and in that way you can understand the real meaning. Take them as precious, more precious than your life. You feel your life is precious. It is not. If you read these with love, I dare say you will be out of ignorance.
You'll see by thinking again and again, if you consider HIM better than your life. Everybody cares for the life. If you care more to read this, then you can understand. Then you can be HE. That's the main point.
In the beginning you feel, 'I'm tired today. I don't want to do it.' Tell your mind, you have to do it otherwise you won't get lunch or dinner!! Then he does it.
Blessed are those who know the Reality. So, be blessed always... go to the right path, then you know, "I'm sure to get to the destination. If not today, then tomorrow. That's the main point."
